So this is a rather embarrassing topic, but I figured this was probably a good place to discuss.
At the moment I'm 37 and over the last few years, specifically around ~35 I started noticing a change in my sex drive / performance. I can still perform but I've noticed it's not always as reliable and rock hard as it used to be in my younger years. Some days everything works as it should, yet some days I just don't seem as "up for it". I've also noticed my ability to go multiple times in a day is somewhat diminished. I have the odd day where I can go 2-3 times but it's not as frequent as it used to be. It's really made me realise that I'm growing older and I'm not the young kid I used to be.
I think on top of that, what used to be considered 'normal' has been influenced by the ubiquity of pornography today. It seems the 'norm' now is to have a 10" **** and be able to go for hours, no matter what your age. It's difficult not to feel that I should be doing the same.
I'm just wondering if I'm the odd one out here? Or is everyone else still able to perform as well as their younger days?
One issue I have is that my girlfriend is younger than me (29) and beautiful - so she's used to having guys always being rock hard and good to go (mainly because before me she was in relationships with guys in their twenties too). So over the past couple of weeks I've been on a low calorie diet, and I'm used to my sex drive dropping when I do this. Yesterday she was feeling particularly horny so we had sex that morning. 2 hours later she wanted to go again but the combination of having already sex and feeling so exhausted from low calories meant that I just couldn't perform. She got a little upset and I tried to tell her it's because I'm exhausted and already had sex that day.
I think the humiliation of not being able to give her what she wanted made me feel particularly low, and got me wondering whether there's something wrong with me or whether every other guy is having sex like a porn star?
Have any other guys in their late 30s gone through this? Or am I the only one?
