VR is kind of cool, but it reminds me of the 3D movie fad that was hot a few years back. Most people would just as soon watch a regular movie on a big screen. I don't think VR or 3D will really get big enough to replace other forms until the technology gets to the point where you don't need to wear a visor, or a helmet, or glasses. I’m in a similar situation with my girlfriend. She had bladder surgery 5 weeks ago and hasn’t been able to have sex per the doc. She’s got about another two weeks before she can.
