Having said that, I'm struck by the fact that good looking guys in my town struggle with dating whereas less than an hour out, lots of very average looking guys have hot or cute girlfriends.

Even within a half an hour, there are a couple of great hotspots for me, even though the local area is generally sh1t.

Interestingly, the girls I meet out of town often move so fast, I sometimes don't even realize what's going on until it's too late.

If you don't have a car, get one. If you have one, and don't like driving an hour out of your area, get used to it. Load up some music or podcasts on your phone and drive! Devote a weekend morning or afternoon or evening to travel north, south, east or west: find a fun activity on facebook and go check it out. It could change your life.

I agree that people are different in different places, but I also wonder if your approach changes any in another town? Maybe you feel braver out of town since you have a greater feeling of anonymity, possibly? Plus the change of perspective might make things feel more fresh for you? Just a thought.

The only bad thing with this is you end up with long distance relationships, which aren't usually successful.
I've talked to many girls out of town, and it ends up that they actually live somewhere far away from there.

Yeah, i've thought about the 'why', and my best guess is that my town is basically a fairly 'rough' and 'chavvy' area.
It's not unusual for me to walk up to some hot teen in a bar and be lke 'HI!' (or open in whatever way the current guru advises) and she's like ''Can you not ****ing talk to me? I don't know you. Go away!'' or she'll just look at me like i've got 3 heads, blink and walk away...fast! haha

In the town 20mins away, house prices are about double! The people are just less hostile and posher.

Doesn't make it easy to actually get laid, though. You're still like to get 'no girls' if you aren't her type, only instead of saying '**** off!'' these girl will just do that thing where they just don't contribute at all to the convo. Just sid there a and nod their heads, waiting for you to leave lol

You'll need to create social proof to have a semblance of constant success.

It really is, but I don't think he's advocating moving, just driving over for a visit and checking out the local fauna. Worst that can happen is that you get some practice.
