I understand social media gets blood boiling of a lot of guys on here who can't succeed on it, have given up, and feel the desperate need to stop others from being successful on it by throwing out the whole "its for narcissists" or "its worthless" trash. I understand you're angry but that is why I said, not for the easily butthurt.

For those of us who actually want to succeed on it.

Modern day game and status, for those in here who actually know what we are talking about when we say that, revolve around social media. I find that for most younger attractive girls (18-25), this will be at the top of their list. A good IG account is a strong status boost and some dudes like Dan Bilzerian can pull it off well.

Now I notice that hot girls and high SMV younger guys have the following:

1. A lot of followers (over 1k)

2. A lot of likes on pics (over 100 at least)

I am guessing they get these followers from being in frats/sororities and being social on a college campus.

For a guy who works full time and isn't in that school setting, any strategies for building a good legit IG account and accumulating 1k followers?

I have 23k followers on Instagram.

I have a bot running that likes 100 photos per hour based on hashtags that I've chosen, so the follow backs are real users.

I only follow about 600 account because I don't believe in the strategy some people use to choose, to like a s*** ton of accounts they are not interested in in the hope of being followed back.

But that is fake though.

The hot girls I see and the high status guys I know genuinely have 1k followers so the question should be how to grow your social life and make social media reflect it.

I always found that those with the highest social value of everyone either don't have a Facebook or never use it if they do. Probably because they have better social skills since hey spend time talking to people instead of looking at others online and caring about that stuff

You must live in an alternate universe then or these people are not on facebook because they are on Instagram instead.

One exception to this rule though, the people you are talking about are old, like over 40 old. In that case I agree but for most of us in our 20s and even 30s, social media is a major form of value and I find that people with high social value often have amazing social media accounts.

Then we live in different worlds. Highest value people I know rarely actually use social media. They all have it actually, but never use it. It's usually because they're actually out doing stuff like meeting people in person or hanging out and chatting with friends in person instead of online.

Yeah... I'm old....and I seriously don't understand the purpose of this.... How does this make you a better man ?

You become the male version of a Kardashian ?

Then what ?.... Will girls drop their panties because you have 1000 followers ? That easy ? No money.... No looks.... Just a fake life on the internet ?

Incorrect. People follow me because of my career and my content. Content is always King in any media. The only way anyone finds an Instagram account is through hashtags or through comments. All I do is give people a reason to hit me up to see what I'm all about.

When I post videos each one gets between 5000 and 20000 views. The picture I posted 13 hours ago already has 929 likes and 100 comments as of this moment. Real engagement is engagement.

Outside of celebrities and pro athletes, professional models etc, I don't know why anyone would have an Instagram account. At least famous people are selling their brand to attract business and make more money. What are regular people trying to accomplish with Instagram, other than a false sense of their own self worth?

If a girl is attracted to you based on the number of followers you have, how is that any different than her being attracted to you because of your car or money? If that's the kind of fake girl you want then go for it I guess.

I get that too, being naturally introverted but also reliant upon a public profile for my income. If I was just doing a normal job then I would probably just have private accounts to share travel and career pics with friends and family.

Having said that, sometimes it's nice to tell people what you do and for them to have an opportunity to see that you're not a complete **** talker, that you can talk the talk and walk the walk.

Yes, Thorninmyside, for your income, that makes sense. It's a useful way to generate business etc.

It's nice to share those aspects of your life for sure, however the OP is discussing how to attract girls with likes and follows, which is different than sharing cool pics from your vacation etc.

People shouldn't rely on instragam to attract other people they hope to meet in person. The problem with Instragam life is that it almost never translates into one's actual real life. It's the best face and life you want people to see. How many times do we see a Instagram pic of someone sitting on their couch watching tv or paying their bills or mowing their lawn etc. All the pics highlight the best parts of a vacation, concert, festival, party, etc etc. So when the OP meets a girl who is interested because of all of his cool pics of parties and travels etc etc which generated followers then he better live up to that hype.

Social media is a tool for gamification. Gamification of life.

Look at it like this. You can refrain from wiping your a$$ for a week, put on fitted CK suit, and noone is any the wiser. But, underneath, when you take your suit off and get into bed with the girl who was attracted to your suit, your a$$ still stinks and is covered in sh!t.

The same goes for your Instagraming. Pretty pictures and 'followers' and 'likes' are what they are. At the end of the day, when the phones are put away and you're sat there with your woman, face to face, ask yourself if you have the substance, lifestyle and personality to back up your online image.

I dropped all the social networks out of a cost benefits ratio and most importantly a pro vs cons evaluation.

I'm not that goodlooking and surely I dont look hot on pictures, I dont have the mandatory 300+ friends and I strongly doubt that I could get the mandatory 10+ likes per picture.

I dont need compliments or validation, I need physical rewards and those social networks are useless to me in terms of rewards and social proof.

If I was a hot looking guy owning a cabrio and living a great life such considerations would probably change but its not my case right now.

You get likes and followers according to your look and status not according to what you do unless you are famous, a hot girl writes "yawn" and gets 100 likes while an average guy could save children from a hurricane and just get a "nicely done bro" from his best friend.

I may be wrong but I believe the battle field and the available units have to be chosen carefully.

For me, I wish I could be cool on social media, but I don't think I'm cut out for it.

For one, I'd have to use a fake last name, which isn't a huge problem... But honestly I don't think I'm fake enough for it.

I've seen girls look stunning on Instagram, then look gross in person with no makeup.
