Why did you stick to it? Well, to me and other black people on the forum, it appears as though you stick to them because you have a secret racism towards black people.

You even continued to post the graph from @Soflobro which doesn't paint the full picture, the links I provided painted a much fuller picture of the situation. But you guys avoided that.

This isn't just on this forum, but I've noticed it throughout life in general. When an issue affects a particular person, their "complaints" are legitimate and should be heard! But when it's an issue that affects someone else and doesn't affect them as much or they have it under control, then they will refer to those other people as whiners.

Here's the PROBLEM though. How many black doctors have you ever had to deal with at any doctors office or hospital? Barely any, right?

Probably about as many as MOST white people encounter in their day to day endeavours. I run an mri, xray, with a subcomponent of phlebotomy and other related medical modalities. So I deal with and coordinate with medical professionals on the daily.

I have never dealt with a black radiologist ever, they are mostly all white(85%), Asian(10%), Indian(5%).

Hmm, I thought they were handing out medical degrees to blacks like government cheese huh?

I had one student who became a radiologist she was Hispanic and I think one other that was white. I just asked my business partner the same question and she agreed(although she reminded me of one I had forgot about).

So, let's think back and recall what this thread was initially about:

A white women who asked for a white doctor in a Canadian clinic while being surrounded by minorities mostly Indian. Did she not understand that this would insult the minorities around her? What would possess a person to act like this while clearly being at a disadvantage?

She felt entitled because she was white. She felt SUPERIOR to even the Indian/black doctors who MOST LIKELY had more education than she did, I truly believe that some white people get off on this to try and make minorities feel bad, in order to make up for their own short comings. Just like softboro is living in an halfway house and speeddawg is a handyman. And while I'm not knocking them because I've seen my fair share of struggles before too. But I find it odd that someone living in squalor would even open his mouth to critique someone who has worked their ass off to be successful.​

The first point that we are making is:

One, if blacks were given a free ride and if standards are being lowered, as has been maintained by @Danger, @Soflobro, @ speedawg then you would see much more of them in the medical field, but you do not, because even if whats been postulated is true they would still be eliminated if they weren't qualified.

Two, yes we are going to accuse you of being a racist piece of shyt if you are saying that the only reason blacks are successful is because of academic bias and..

I have a whole lot more to say about this topic too. I learned some pretty interesting things dealing with the backgrounds of different ethnicities. Some of this would shock some of you here, but I'm just too busy at the moment.

The last thing(for now) is that there's only one area where whites will ascribe blacks greater ability than whites and that is in sports and sex, but never ever academically..

I will address these issues later, but I'm on my way to the casino.

We don't have an affirmative action policy here. There's something a bit similar called Employmemt Equity but there is no law saying that a certain percentage of minorities have to be hired.

What we do have here in Canada is a significant shortage of family doctors. In fact foreign trained doctors have a hard time getting qualified to practice here. Many end up becoming medical assistants, personal support workers, etc.

There are many Canadians who don't have a family doctor. Clinics are busy and you can't get an app right away and when you do you have to wait sometimes an hour to be seen. She was lucky they could see her son that day, she can't afford to be racist, picky, whatever. It's not like there is another clinic around the corner with an empty waiting room full of white doctors just waiting for a walk in. She needs to get a grip.

Facts, lies, and statistics. Those stats are from a right-wing think tank. The acceptance percentage is so high for minorities, because they get so few applicants. Very few black and Hispanic people apply to med school, because they know they don't meet the minimum standards. Those applications cost money. There's no point in spending the money if you know you won't get in. The 81% acceptance rate is quoted in order to imply that any random black person has an 81% chance of being admitted, which is ridiculous. The sample of applicants is very far from random.

My law school typically had a graduating class of about 250. Looking at all the class pictures hanging in the hallway, it is easy to see that they admit 1-2 black people per year. But one year I was there, we had a black dean, who had the idea to lower standards to admit a dozen or so, instead of just one or two. And all those extras flunked out the first year...except two I think. The school kept their tuition money, and screwed those kids over badly, because once you flunk out of law school, you are never getting admitted to another school again. I was friends with one of the kids and tried to help him all I could, but he still failed out. He got an mba instead and went to work in the White House for the Obamas.

That's why lowering admission standards doesn't work. Exams are graded blindly, anyway. They couldn't give preference to minorities if they tried.

The sample of med school applicants is not random. There are far fewer black and Hispanic med school applicants, as a percentage of the sample, than there are in the general population. Hell, blacks and Hispanics probably win the lottery more than white people, but if so it's not because they are luckier, they just buy more tickets. It's the opposite with med school, very few of them apply.

Who cares if there are fewer applicants than in the general population? What matters is what is the percentage of applicants by race compared the percentage of acceptance by race. That is how you determine if race is a factor in admissions.

Percentage of the population does not enter the picture anywhere.

I follow his logic. 13% of the country is black, but only 5% apply, so while their rate of acceptance is higher, it's still not 'equal'.

However, that logic is faulty and racist itself, so the right wing think tank was also correct, although it's not as bad as they portray. As you say, % of population shouldn't be a part of it, but since it is, some black applicants are getting in based on race rather than them having the highest scores. You will never see a black person address this, because it's an automatic advantage given by race. This is the point where you will be attacked emotionally.

Truth is always in the middle. It just always seems to me, that the underdog, or black applicants in this case, are always given the rationalization/benefit of the doubt. Maybe it's earned, maybe it's not. I certainly can't change it.
