But Guru the thing is, we are approaching the same situation just from two different angles. We both have the same goal, just two different approaches.

- You believe in using positive affirmations and from that.....a guy eventually comes across a plan to acquire the level of success he's looking for.

- I believe in using actual research, data, trends, and forecasts to come up with the plan.

That's why the $1 million number is there, because that's a BARE MINIMUM. I haven't gathered enough data, research, and forecasting variables to now say, "Okay, the bare minimum I should hit is at least $3 million." I can't just say that yet.......
I'm not advocating the use of positive affirmations, though I believe positive affirmations vastly supersede negative affirmations. I am advocating you to create a new paradigm. Success begins the motivation to succeed. The difference between "positive affirmation" and "paradigm," is the former lacks the motivation to incite related thinking and action, and thus is not a precursor to success.

If your paradigm is 1 mil, you are unconsciously blinded by those opportunities--which could create wealth that exceeds 1 mil--that are already in your sphere.

Couple years back, I had this one company that was repeatedly soliciting me to get involved with their business. I never engaged them for two reasons:

1) They had 3mm in debt;
2) If I somehow managed to settle this debt for pennies, the potential "paycheck" was 500% more than I was accustomed to earning.

Granted, I make a living by finding distressed companies that I can turn around, but the 3mm in debt felt too big for me to negotiate, and even worse the potential profit was not within my paradigm to accept as the "ordinary course of doing business."

You see the opportunity wasn't even considered as it was outside my comfort zone. We are creatures of habit and we tend to only afford our time and attention to those areas which we already feel comfortable with.

That year, a good friend made a killing in a Manhattan building, and his estimated net worth on that building alone was likely to reach 10mm within a few years (remember we spoke about paper growth earlier). Needless to say this was a shocker to me. Here was a guy who was less intellectual, less analytical, and less connected than me, yet here he was surpassing me with one investment. Meanwhile, here I am negotiating complex MBSs buyouts with banks, and structuring the most labyrinthine Ch 11bk filings and litigation strategies. One case I got involved with changed case law history in NY. I was the pioneer of new specialized case law for tolled judgments arising out of one of my ventures, but this pal of mine with one swoop took me out with a fundamental R/E buy? It didn't make sense.

One thing this friend did have was some set of paradigms. I remember as kids playing in the park: As most other kids ran to the ice cream truck, this guy said, "I'm going to own buildings all over Manhattan, while these other guys will be chasing their ice cream!"

That moment was a paradigm shift for me. Although I was already thinking big (as I had thought), I was in fact circumscribing myself.

A week later, that company with the 3mm in debt called me. What's 3mm, right? Child's play. I scheduled a meeting to discuss specifics. I inquired as to the directors assets and net worth, they had a combined worth of 1.2 mil. Couldn't file a Ch 11 for full extinguishment, but likely with the the homestead exemptions, they could file with a 900k payoff on 3mil worth of debt. I still didn't feel comfortable dolling out 900k for a potential 1.2 payout if everything went right even with investor money, as I am extremely conservative in mitigation of these types of plays. I scheduled a meeting with the creditors. The primary creditor happened to be a higher up with one of my mortgage banks. I explained the situation; as well as the potentiality of a structured Chapter 11 that would lose him over 60% of his principal. I mapped out the cost of expensive litigation, the likelihood of collection even if judgments were awarded. I invited their counsel to a subsequent meeting. Needless to say, after back and forth for a few months, we settled for 500k.

Tenacity, would it surprise you if I had stated that TODAY, you already have opportunities in your sphere to take you to the next level, which is beyond 1 mil. You are just not open to them.

Increase your paradigm.

Like what?

And I completely understand your rationale about the levels of thinking, but I can assure you that's not my problem. I actually spend days and nights stressing over this. My ideal situation, would be to get $2 million in wealth by age 45. The interest alone on that principal put into some fixed income or bonds, would more than cover all of my personal expenses going forward annually.

But I haven't been able to come up with a plan to get there.

This will be last my post in this thread. I will invest into believing you are being forthcoming and truly not getting it.

Reread Post 161 and tell me which came first, the modus operandi or the paradigm?

Declare and own the new paradigm.

Speaking of net worth, I wonder if the average net worth here is more or less than the real world. On one hand, they promote self improvement here.

But I would guess since it is mostly younger people here, it skews it lower. No offense to young people, but I know I didn't make much at age 24.

LOL, I wonder what the record is for the baby momma with the most number of prisons that her baby daddies are incarcerated in.

I look at actions more than words. A person will go on this site and say they are some successful business owner or high paid analyst. However, the fact that they post on this site every second of the day, say the most reactionary I'm a miserable human being **** , and have the attitude of a spoiled 5 year old tells me otherwise.

That's why its so important for these guys to get the message about how important MONEY is. If you're in your 20's or 30's you still have one of the best resources in the world: TIME.

The land of improvement
The thing is @Trump is I understand very well.

It's not nightclub owner versus doctor. A nightclub owner is a businessman. Most doctors are employees. I had doctors to choose from. I picked the nightclub owner (businessman).

Both have status. Both have value in the long game. Service employees like a bartender? Not nearly as much status.

Status is relative and depends on the environment. A nightclub owner would have zero status in an Aboriginal tribe. Status has different standards there. A doctor who is completing his 4th year residency does not have the same status as the hospital chief medical officer (CMO), even though they are both physicians and so on. Status is ALWAYS relative. That's why the thug has status in the hood. He leaves the hood he ain't ****.

Beauty however tends to be more absolute. Disregarding personal taste & preference a beautiful woman is a beautiful woman wherever she goes.

Beauty does fade and men can always become more successful. There are always beautiful women for high status men to choose from.

My question to you @NSX-R is more complex. Where do you fall on the status spectrum in Zurich? It is awesome that you out earn 90% of your peers. But your observation about still finding hot women to be scarce would indicate that your peers are NOT who you are competing against. My guess is you are competing against older, wealthier, more influential and more successful men. Men with higher relative status than you have at the moment. Figure out how to elevate yourself into those circles and you'll find that's where the women are that you want.

Comparing yourself to your peers is for schoolboys. You have to look at the whole landscape and accurately assess where you fit in it.

The good news is you can increase your stature if you gain an understanding of the environment where you exist and work toward that goal.
Exactly what you said . I find it amazing that you were able to figure me out so precisely.
I'm new into this scene and still an outsider . I try to learn new ways to make myself enter this kind of circle but needs a lot of work . That's why i made a similar post some time ago .

I have good conversation skills but sometimes i speak a lot and use topics which are irrelevant. I work currently on that and i have improved a lot but still needs some work .

Your tips are very important for me and I'll do my best to make use of them .

That's flattering and I hope some of my insights are useful.

If you want entry into more exclusive circles my suggestion would be to continue your upwardly mobile trajectory of your own ambitions while at the same time cultivating relationships with men who have higher status than you do. Listen to these men. Take an authentic interest in them. Ask them what makes them tick.

Then actively listen. As in listen to learn...do not listen for the purpose of showcasing yourself through witty responses. To do that will make you appear arrogant and insolent. If you really listen to them & absorb what they say they will see you as rather intelligent for acknowledging their stature. They will open up and allow you into their world. If they like you they will open many doors for you.

Be a gentleman. Seek wisdom. Be comfortable in your own skin and demonstrate your mettle but do this modestly. Modesty is the essence of class my friend.

Meh, interests rates sucks these days. Barely 1% at the banking institutions I researched.

I'm sorry, but what kind of job do you have where you'll think you'll have that kind of money by that age? It seems there's some members of this board that feel they're going to be millionaires (or feel that they are currently millionaires). While some of us are working typical average salaries with enough to spare...still.

No offense to young people, but I know I didn't make much at age 24.
It's not uncommon, I just tend to think people at that age seem to embellish their financial situation. Most of their spending are likely on credit/plastic.

OP is correct. And this is coming from a guy that likely has the highest net worth in the forum.
So he SAYS.

Ditto this...of course, I'm not the kind of person to let that kind of thing be known among strangers in a forum.

I'm sorry, are you 80 years old? Millionaires in 2017 are people who own houses outright. This isn't 1920 when $20 was an ounce of Gold ($1300 now). Note that teensy little 6500% inflation factor (thanks to the Federal Reserve that owns Big Pharma that some people celebrate as the key to survival)?

The fact you use the word Millionaire to mean "impossibly rich" tells us you REALLY need those medical benefits you are touting. Keep this small potato **** for your next Chick Fil-A drive-thru date. Get a real job.

I took home $200,000 in the past 6 months as a software contractor working hourly. So I could earn $2 Million in the next 5 years even without another raise.

Jesus, why don't you guys start a Poor Don Juan forum seeing that you can't stop whining about anyone who has the unfair advantage of a wallet.

Late to the thread...

OP is right. For example, the other day I saw a cute normal looking girl walking and holding hands with her boyfriend. He had long hair, faded rock band t-shirt, and jersey shorts. Sometimes at the bars by the big university, I will see a ghetto thug with a really hot blonde who looks like shes from the white suburbs.

It just comes to show you much of an impact media has on the minds of women, guessing you're in the northeast. The bleached blonde types are desperate for attention and wanting to be cool, the ghetto thug is America's version of cool, hence why you see it. All the while some wealthy immigrant from a not so cool country doesn't have as much of a chance with these sorts of women.

It makes me wonder if eventually we will get to the point where these hot blonde kinds are going after Arabs and Mexicans due to some sort of sympathy like they were towards blacks (no racist). I mean it's really to get attention from society as a whole, which is why these women dye their hair blonde in the first place, but given how Mexicans and Arabs are turning into the new races it is cool to hate I can't help but wonder how soon before we are seeing Wilmer Valderrama looking dudes with these sorts of women on the east coast, already happening in other parts of the country.

Guru why is it that I can't ever win with you? Didn't I just tell you that I stress day in and day out, about making my net worth as high as possible? Why do I need to specifically state, "I will make $20 million by 2030" if I'm already DOING the actions that put me in a spot to make as much as possible?

- My net worth is in the High Achiever Category by age
http://thecollegeinvestor.com/14611/average-net-worth-millennials/

- The amount of money I make annually is in the High Achiever Category by age
http://thecollegeinvestor.com/14611/average-net-worth-millennials/

- I'm hustling 40 hours plus a week in my Career, I run a business on the side, I'm managing my own investments on the side, and staying financially discipline with a PLAN to make as much money as possible. I worked FULL time while completing 4 degrees on the side.

But I'm still a fvcking PIKER?? o_O

Guru I have a couple questions for you, follow me below......

I knew this is going to be a marathon thread. Just like boundaries threads. There is absolutely nothing wrong with verbalizing your boundaries, at the appropriate times, yo the appropriate extents by the way. Prove me wrong. Protip:
you can't.
Guru you once called SoFloBro a "cool cat". You said this is a guy you would LOVE to hang out with. You have praised him up and down, all the way around. Now let me give you some facts about SoFloBro:

- SoFloBro is about 30 years old and he's broke. He lives on a woman's couch. From what I understand, I don't even think he has a car. I know he doesn't make much a year and his net worth could be negative most likely.

- So Guru...question....is SoFloBro a PIKER? Just answer YES or NO.

I'm sorry, but what kind of job do you have where you'll think you'll have that kind of money by that age? It seems there's some members of this board that feel they're going to be millionaires (or feel that they are currently millionaires). While some of us are working typical average salaries with enough to spare...still..
So Guru, this guy doesn't even believe he'll hit my bare minimum million dollar net worth plan. He mentioned that he's working a typical average salary job (which I assume is around $40,000 per year) and only "enough" to spare, which I assume isn't a very high net worth. He's 45 years old.

- So Guru....question......is ThisNThat a PIKER? Just answer YES or NO.

Guru I keep giving you the benefit of the doubt, cause a part of me thinks you are legitimately trying to offer assistance, while another part of me says you are just fvcking with me/trolling me for the hell of it cause you are ticked off I called you out in 2015.

So Guru here's the thing, if you DO NOT call these guys out as PIKERS, I will no longer take you seriously.

I have never seen you refer to any other member of this forum as a Piker other than me, when I'm over here making 6 fvcking figures a year, multiple degrees, I run my OWN business on the side, and my net worth is a quarter of a million fvcking dollars. You know what that means Guru? That means other than Big Neil, BeExcellent, Howie, YOU, and maybe a couple others....I'm in the TOP 10 MOST SUCCESSFUL people on this god damn forum.

That's a fact, not an opinion, a fact....YET...you keep calling me a fvcking Piker, but these guys on here who are saying money doesn't mean shyt, who sleep on women's couches, and who are 45 making $35,000 a year, you haven't said SHYT (not one word) to them about being a FVCKING piker or expanding their FVCKING paradigm.

They are the ones you ought to be preaching this shyt to, not me.

As somebody who lived homeless in Kalispell for half a year, I have to say its kinda freeing. Lived in the back of my truck. Showered at the 24/7 fitness center I had a membership in. Camped under the stars every single night.

Not having a place to bring a girl was a bit bad (no apartment for her to get railed in) but the entire experience was amazing. No need to worry about rent money, just gas money.

Sounds like an interesting adventure, but not something that I would like to do permanently. But a lot of people are into the "off the grid" lifestyle, so I could see the appeal in it.
