It probably would have cost me about $1,500 - $2,000 (flight, hotel, ticket, purchases, hitting up a strip club while there) which isn't bad (I would have wrote it off as a business expense), but I would have personally preferred a better Wrestlemania card. I think they have a lot of guys HEALTHY this year (versus last year) and the card is just horrible in my opinion.
It would NOT cost you $1500, I promise you that. I'm working as a travel counselor now. A 4 day weekend could be had for $600 if you skip the strip club, and including the flight, WM ticket, and RAW ticket.

No hotel cause you could stay by me, along with my friend that's coming.

But I agree. The card $uck$. Miz is not worthy of a high profile match. I would have preferred Undertaker vs. Cena. I hope we at least get Money in the Bank or an IC Title ladder match.

Tickets are going for under $200 for the 2nd deck. That's worth it even if every match is lackluster. It's about the experience - the old timer comebacks, the celebrities, great entrances, enormous crowd, and just to say you were there.

Yeah bro, tell me how you get the flights down that low? My new company has been flying me across the US and it's routinely cost them $650 - $700 for a round-trip.

If I was going to come there for Wrestlemania, I was going to have to party as well bro lol. I would need my own hotel as well. I would have at least arrived around Saturday afternoon, partied Saturday night, then we go to the event on Sunday. From there, party on Sunday night. Then I flight out that Monday morning.

Flying out of Detroit or Flint?

In how many hours does Fastlane finish? The time-difference is confusing.
Supposed to have been over at 11:00 p.m. EST. The Goldberg match is just starting but this is supposed to be a squash match from what I understand. So it being 10:55 p.m. right now, this might still end at 11:00 p.m. lol

It involves a lot of mixing and matching one-ways with different airlines, sometimes "throwaway ticketing", etc.

For example, I found your flight back for just $150 on Monday morning, but the one way flights coming down here are a bit more right now. At this moment you're looking at $375-400 round trip, and $200 for the event ticket.

Still at or around $600, but if you have to have a nice hotel and party you're right, looking at closer to 1k.

Congrats on those going to Mania! The experience should be fun, even if the matches...Well, aren't.

Fastlane was horrible. My favorite match was Gallagher vs. Neville.

Yeah I want to look into how you get those flight discounts.

But yeah, Wrestlemania has been horribly built up. Goldberg and Lesnar is the main match, AFTER Goldberg has beat the guy in less than 2 minutes in both November and January. Makes no sense. Then on Smackdown, there's literally like a new number one contender every week.

How would Tenacity have booked Mania? This would have been the main matches on the card:

WWE Title: AJ Stylez (champion) v.s. Bray Wyatt (RR winner. Keep Randy in the Wyatt family as he would actually help Bray beat AJ at Mania, then turn on him during the Spring/Summer to head into a big Summerslam match)

Universal Title: Kevin Owens (champion) v.s. Jericho (who wins a no. 1 contender match)

John Cena v.s. The Undertaker (Undertaker cost Cena the match against AJ at RR to set this up. Undertaker would have never been in the RR)

Roman Reigns v.s. Goldberg (The Survivor Series squash should have never happened. Goldberg and Lesnar would have fought at Survivor Series and RR, with each one getting a victory at each event. Goldberg would have came out to do a retirement speech and Reigns would have challenged him to a match at Mania)

Brock Lesnar v.s. Samoa Joe (Lesnar would be going on about how he's beaten everybody and there's nobody left to beat. Samoa Joe would have randomly showed up and beat the hell out of Lesnar on Raw like he did Rollins. This would setup the match)

HHH v.s. Seth Rollins (I would keep this booked the way WWE has been booking it, except with the involvement of Samoa Joe. I would have had HHH attack Rollins instead, injuring his leg)

The main event could be Roman Reigns defeating holograms of Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan, and Stone Cold in a 3 on 1 handicap match. Just being at the spectacle will be worth it for me this year!

Here are my predictions so far:

1. Undertaker vs Roman Reigns
Winner: Undertaker (because OTHERWISE WE RIOT!)

2. Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg - Universal Championship
Winner: Brock Lesnar (because they've already buried Lesnar WAY too much here)

3. Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton - WWE Championship
Winner: Bray Wyatt (Bray needs the win A LOT MORE! Orton is almost done)

4. Triple H vs. Seth Rollins
Winner: Seth Rollins (because HHH loses every grudge match against everyone not named Sting)

5. Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho - US Championship
Winner: Kevin Owens (another case of KO needing the win a lot more)

6. Charlotte vs. Sasha vs. Bayley - Raw Womens Championship
Winner: Charlotte (bc she is the TOTAL PACKAGE of a Diva, Sasha 2nd choice, basically anyone but Bayley)

7. Neville vs. Austin Aries - Crusierweight Championship
Winner: Austin Aries (because this belt is a hot potato and Aries isn't losing his debut match. This may also be a 6 man ladder match. Still going with Aries.)

8. AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon
Winner: AJ (who is above the meaningless Shane match that Shane always loses)

9. Big Show vs. Shaq
Winner: Shaq (do the celebrities ever lose in their cameo appearances?)

10. Alexa Bliss vs. Entire Smackdown female roster
Winner: Who the fvck cares and how meaningless is this belt? I'll go with Mickie James

11. Andre The Giant Battle Royal
Winner: Braun Strowman (bc that loss to Roman puts him from main event to battle royal)

12. Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin - IC Championship
Winner: Baron Corbin (because Ambrose is a PG jobber doing nothing and Corbin is getting pushed)

13. Club vs. Sheamus/Cesaro vs. Enzo/Cass
Winner: Enzo/Cass (The fans will turn on these guys soon, watch. Maybe at WM itself or the next night on RAW)

14. John Cena & Nikki vs. Miz & Maryse
Winner: Cena & Nikki (because Miz already beat Cena once at WM, NOT HAPPENING again)

---------------

For the record this is WAY too many matches and I'm going to be burnt out. This was the problem with expanding the rosters this much, having a billion titles and a billion shows. We could see close to FIFTEEN MATCHES over 4.5 hours of wrestling.

Condense this sh*t down to 10 minutes over 3 hours for god's sake.

Wow, someone who doesn't like Bayley. I thought everybody liked Bayley. Personally, I don't trust any chick who hugs every guy she sees. I like her entrance though.

You guys wanna know something crazy? The amount of these matches that are REMATCHES in some form of another. They may not have all been one on one previously (although many were), but a LOT of these matches saw the participants wrestle each other in some capacity, like tag matches.

Undertaker vs Roman Reigns
These two wrestled in a 6 man tag on April 22, 2013 when it was Team Hell No and Undertaker vs. The Shield

Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg - Universal Championship
These two wrestled one on one at Wrestlemania XX and Survivor Series 2016

Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton - WWE Championship
These two wrestled one on one at No Mercy 2016

Triple H vs. Seth Rollins
These two wrestled in a 6 man tag at Payback 2014 during The Shield vs. Evolution

Charlotte vs. Sasha vs. Bayley - Raw Womens Championship
We saw this EXACT triple threat match at Clash of Champions 2016 (as well as dozens of one on one matches between all three)

Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin - IC Championship
These two wrestled one on one on Smackdown on 8/30/16

Club vs. Sheamus/Cesaro vs. Enzo/Cass
First time it's been all 6 at once, but each of these teams have been recycling feuds with the other two for months on end

John Cena & Nikki vs. Miz & Maryse
The two men of these match wrestled at Wrestlemania 27 and multiple other times

-----------------------

With close to 100 guys and gals on the roster now, why is 3/4 of the card either direct or indirect rematches? Where are the FRESH matches? SURELY there have to be some combinations we haven't seen before.

The only matches we may get that I can't recall seeing once before are Jericho/Owens, AJ/Shane (which makes no sense anyway) and Neville/Aries.

Lazy booking. I could come up with a better card than this in 20 minutes and 75% of the matches you would have never seen before...

Apparently it's in AJ Lee's book that there were guys in the WWE front office who told her that she was "unfvckable", that the audience considered her "unfvckable". Have you guys heard this? I always thought AJ Lee was cute as a button, about as hot as it gets. The only thing that makes "unfvckable" in my mind is the thought that CM Punk has had his nasty c0ck inside her (nothing against CM Punk personally, mind you).

The creative booking is the worse it's been in a very long time and the television ratings are the lowest they have been in a very long time.

But guess what? WWE doesn't care! Why you ask?

- WWE's annual revenues are the highest in company history, at over $729 million a year with profits being as high as ever before.

- WWE has it's own Network that while subscribers haven't hit the 2 -3 million mark yet, they are still working on building the Network with more features, efficiencies, etc., to completely "own" their own distribution.

- WWE corporate sponsorships, media presence, etc., is the highest it's ever been before.

- WWE social media engagement is one of the HIGHEST of any company in the world.

- Wrestlemania is the biggest it's ever been before, with multiple cities fighting over the rights to host a Wrestlemania.

So quite frankly, the WWE could care less about us "Internet Wrestling Fans" lol. They figure that as much as we bytch, we will be right back watching the program again anyway.

This is all true. Vince McMahon JUST became a billionaire last year for the very first time at the age of 70. He is now valued at 1.1 billion net worth, and you can BET YOUR AZZ that nice, fat, round number was at the forefront of his mind.

THAT'S why you're seeing more emphasis on expansion and less emphasis on quality.

The UK Championship is a silly concept, the men in that tournament were all 18 years old and were about 5'9" 175 pounds on average (SMALLER THAN ME). Does anyone EVER see any of these guys as credible threats to Brock Lesnar?

The Crusierweight Championship isn't a shell of what it used to be, with vanilla midgets like TJ Perkins and Rich Swann offering ZERO personality. The glory days of lightweight wrestling featured incredible lucha high flyers like Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, and Chris Jericho - larger than life characters who just happened to be small. And yet, the Crusierweights HAVE THEIR OWN SHOW NOW.

NxT (as a concept of a televised minor league) isn't a bad idea, but it doesn't appeal to me. I simply don't have 20 hours a week to dedicate to wrestling.

RAW being three hours is BRUTAL, but it's not going back any time soon. The reason? An hour more of commercial time!

The brand split is stupid but it doubles the number of low end, throwaway PPV's, each of which may net a few thousand network buys that wouldn't otherwise happen.

The Network is booming and so are WWE.com sales.

Everybody is a champion now. The storylines are paper thin. Tons of rematches. The WWE DELIBERATELY teased a Cena vs. Orton match which they knew wasn't gonna happen, but they were yanking our chain because those guys have already wrestled over 100 times. They act like Undertaker vs. Reigns and HHH vs. Rollins are these great, fresh matches as though being involved in a tag feuds mean nothing.

But as Tenacity stated, it doesn't matter because reducing RAW to 2 hours, making it QUALITY, and trimming all the fat is the last thing on McMahon's mind. He's HAPPY to sacrifice content for the greater good of becoming a world brand.

I would be perfectly happy with a quality 2 hour RAW, a taped 2 hour Smackdown, and 6 PPV's a year, but WWE is going in the opposite direction. On PPV weeks, now that Smackdown is on Tuesdays, you can get live wrestling content on TV 3 nights in a row (Sunday-Monday-Thuesday). In another 5-10 years, it'll be on TV 7 days a week in some form or another.

You see in a nutshell, the WWE is using a completely different business model that focuses on many integrated business "segments". "Wrestling" isn't the main focus of WWE anymore, it's a variety of things, including sponsorships, corporate deals, movie deals, etc., that leverage the WWE "brand name". This is also why their revenue is the highest it's ever been, it's because Vince Mcmahon has finally done what he always wanted to do, and that's to successfully transform "Pro wrestling" into a " Disney variety/entertainment brand".

The WWE "wrestling" product on television is honestly not designed to build larger than life characters. It's a churn and burn wheel of building up fresh faces from NXT, bringing them to the main roster, moving others off the roster, and recycling the same "types" of segments, feuds, and storylines over/over with the new faces. Nothing is new, nothing hasn't been done before, and everything is recycled.

That's why the product is boring, dull, and the TV ratings have fallen to the floor. But it doesn't matter that the TV ratings have fallen to the floor, why you ask? Because the "entertainment" aspect still maintains itself through live events and other products, plus with the growth of their social media channels, they actually see their audience haven "grown" not shrinken. Plus by expanding the "entertainment brand" into more markets than ever before, all of this leads to higher revenue growth despite the lowest TV ratings in a long time.

What Am I Saying?

I'm saying Pro wrestling is dead. There will never be another boom in Pro wrestling because everything that you could have done, has already been done. To be honest (and I know I will get heat for this) Vince Mcmahon turning the sport into a Disney "brand" variety/entertainment character show, was actually BEST FOR BUSINESS. Notice how none of the other US based Pro wrestling companies are making any money or traction right now?

BUMP.

9 days away. Anyone excited?
I'm more excited for Smackdown than anything. The best buildup for Raw has been Jericho vs. Owens. Don't care about Goldberg vs. Lesnar, Reigns vs. Undertaker, Andre Battle Royal, or the tag match. I do want to see the Banks vs. Flair vs. Bayley vs. Jax match, but Jax being in it takes away from the match and pace.

9 days away. Anyone excited?
I've had the WWE Network literally since it came out on Monday, February 24th, 2014. I got it because the Library of the WWE is awesome and worth the entire $10 a month in my opinion. The current product has been horrible for years (since 2009). I'm not excited for Wrestlemania at all, but of course I will watch it. The matches just don't make any sense, the main matches should have been:

- Cena v.s. The Undertaker (Undertaker goes over)

- Owens v.s. Jericho for Universal Title (Jericho goes over, KO gets it back at next PPV)

- AJ Stylez (as champion) v.s. Bray Wyatt for WWE Title (Wyatt goes over to become WWE champ, Bray Wyatt also would have won the Royal Rumble. AJ would have retained his title over Cena at Royal Rumble, due to The Undertaker randomly coming out to cost Cena the match. Undertaker would have NEVER been in the Royal Rumble itself. Randy Orton would win Money In the Bank in June, then randomly cash it in on Bray sometime in the Summer, leading up to a rematch at SummerSlam).

- HHH v.s. Rollins (Rollins goes over)

- From there, Goldberg v.s. Roman Reigns match and a Brock Lesnar v.s. Samoa Joe match

I would have did the Goldberg/Lesnar match at Survivor Series (without the squash, but had Goldberg win), then have them do a rematch at the Alamodome at the Royal Rumble, where Lesnar got his victory. Then BOTH came out later for the Royal Rumble where sometime during the Rumble, Goldberg gets dumped out by Reigns and Lesnar gets dumped out by Samoa Joe.

At Wrestlemania, Roman Reigns would go over Goldberg, but Lesnar would go over Samoa Joe, but have it to where Samoa Joe comes out looking VERY strong.

So that's 6 MEGA matches on the card that they could have done, which would have made for a completely better show.
