Do you have a lot of friends? A lot of close friends? Acquaintances? What types of people do you hang out with? (As in positive influences). Do you keep in contact with them? Or are you a loner?

Are you asking this 9volt of us fellow DJs or is it from the perspective of a plate? In any case, I like to have different social spheres depending on the hobby I've taken up. It creates interesting and dynamic conversations because of the perspective a person has in one social sphere will be different in another sphere.

When I'm single, I have a wider net of social circles and my confidence tends to be higher because I'll be more outgoing. I still keep a core close social circle of bros from high school that I've known for almost 20 years, yet I typically only see them a few times a year because of working and going to school full time. They're all married and busy starting or have started families by now....

When I'm juggling 2-4 plates, my time in social circles gets reduced. It ramps back up when I drop plates.

I def. avoid debbie downers. If someone's too negative or talks too much crap behind my back, I remove my presence and attention.

I have my own hobbies and am happy with alone time, yet... too much isolation playing video games, binging Netflix, or studying mad hours in my room makes me desire to be around others and adventure outdoors.

Work - male dominated
School - studying at distance until 2018 when i can hopefully get into uni
Gym - some acquaintances
Mma - obviously male dominated, got a guy im starting to train with outside of class
Friends - pretty much got one buddy left, who i havent seen since some time in 2017

I dont really mind the solitude too much, dont have much time over anyway and i like just being in nature on my free time. Makes it harder to meet new girls without having a social circle, and not being into clubbing (at least not the kind ive experienced), but after what i went through this new years eve i cant muster any lust anymore to pursue/deal with women anyway.

I consider myself a schizoid at this point in my life but I hope it changes one day, I only have one friend who I keep in touch with from time to time but I like socializing, I like going out with friends, I like going to parties, I just wish I had the friends to do it with.

Got like 6 half friends/acquaintances in my Russian history class, 1 actual friend and half friend with another in chemistry lecture, 3 semi-friends in chemistry lab, I was acquaintances with this one kid in psych but he was really lame and I couldn't talk to him about anything plus he gave off an arrogant vibe to me after a while even though he failed the first exam LOL. At work I'm on good terms with everyone I talk to and they all like me, even with the girl who's best friends with another chick who now hates me (hehehe) but I don't go often enough so I'm just acquaintances with everyone there really. And I go to the gym to workout, not to socialize so no friends there. All my good bros left after I moved right before my senior year in high school, and I think most of them left each other too after high school ended. Didn't feel like making close friends my senior year just to have it happen all over again too so I didn't get close to anyone, just talked to them in class or in the hallways or at lunch or something but didn't hang out with any outside of school more than a couple times so I have no ties with anyone from high school now. If I see people I talked to from classes I took last semester I'll say hi and chat with them a bit but I don't see them too much really. Could be better, could be worse, always wishing and striving for better though.

I wish that were possible but I live in a small town, and unfortunately theres nothing I can do unless I move, I'm preparing for the lone wolf life style
move to the nearest city, the only thing worse than moving is living in a small town

Ditto. You want friends? Be a friend. Too many people are self absorbed these days then wonder how they end up isolated.
And what if almost everyone around you is that self-absorbed person? That is literally the BEST way you can describe the average robot that goes to my university. My one friend actually said the same thing. People suck here haha....

My artist guy seriously thinks it's a Millennial thing. His son is 21 and he totally sees this as a product of electronic everything; that people honestly don't know how to have genuine interest in another human being.

It must suck.

I like to have three or four friends in my 'inner circle'. I am super selective, and often initiate.... a bit like pick-up really.

Self absorbed may be a thing but don't forget there are plenty or introverts in this world as well. I'm more borderline but have multiple social circles. Close friends and hockey buddies of course. Out of both groups the majority is married with kids and or divorced.

Find hobbies you meet people, simple as that.
In the meantime I embrace and enjoy solidarity.
I have just as much fun going out and being a lone wolf. Carpe diem!

2 plates is my max, anymore than that. Meh

I have few friends.

Usually, I am more focused on growing and evolving and when I move fast and smash my life, people tend to get left behind. My philosophy is keep up with me, or watch my dust.

Luckily, there are some people on similar paths to I am, but they live in different cities. However, I have a whatsapp chat which keeps me in touch with them.

I have one good friend in the city I live, who is very similar to me and I trust him tenfold.

I have many many many acquaintances. These are people in the groups I am in. For example, my public speaking group, the gym, my workplace etc. All these people are in my life, but I know they will not be kept around when I speed forward. These are the people I won't be sad about leaving.

With regards to my one best friend, I hope I will stay in touch, but he plans to move to Australia.

Friends come and go just the same as women do. Although, at this point in my life, the women just come and go faster ;)

I am going through a divorce right now, so this topic has been big for me lately. Mainly because, every single person in my social circle is married now. Almost all of them recently had their first kid, too. Now that I am single, I realized I have no one to go "out" with. Trying to figure all of that out.

If we are talking numbers, there are 9 guys that I talk to/try to see at least monthly. All of them have a wife (or fiance). My sister and her fiance are also sometimes involved in my "friends" circle. On top of that, I have a good 10-15 guys and girls that I will randomly talk to, and sometimes hang out with. Those are pretty evenly split male/female.

So, for someone my age, I have a relatively large social circle. But when I am basically the only one single, it is a very different dynamic I am trying to work through. I work full time, have a dog that I now need to take care of myself, a single family home I now need to maintain myself, I go to the gym 5 times a week, and I am starting to get into photography. I run out of time to meet new people.

Don't really have any friends. Insecure guys (most guys) hate you when you pull more ***** than they do.

Got some buddies at work, but spend my spare time with plates. I flirt with girls at work, but try to leave it at that. Yeah, I've ****ed a few co-workers. Sue me.
