Nobody is calling for anything against "citizens." This entire thread is about keeping people OUT who are already OUT and want to come IN.

They are not citizens. They are hopeful immigrants. The constitution doesn't protect people that aren't citizens who live outside of the U.S.

The travel ban included valid green card holders. That's the biggest problem with it. Banon thinks he's a mastermind, but he's quite ignorant about the law.

I agree with the court's current ruling. Call that extreme if you want. If the Supreme Court ends up affirming the travel ban, I will obviously disagree with that decision. But I'm not going to attack the power of the court and call them illegitimate.

Believe it or not, I've actually been a plaintiff in a case that went to the Supreme Court. I thought for sure we were in the right. We won our case in the Midwest and our opposition won their case in the 9th Circuit. The Supremes agreed to hear the case due to the split....and we fvcking lost. I listened to some of the oral arguments, and I think we must have hired Elmer Fudd as our attorney. So believe me, I've been on the losing side before. You still respect the court even when you lose.

Why not legalize the ones already here and make them pay a penalty, while strictly enforcing current laws and requiring employers to verify right to work for their workers, on the threat of being fined? That would remove incentives for new illegal immigrants coming and staying here, kind of what Mitt Romney said with "self-deportation".

I've been trying to get at this point for a couple of years now. I hear these fake, nonsensical words like "Islamophobia" which is an irrational fear or aversion of Islam. To be "adverse" to the tenants of Islam is noble and humane. To be "fearful" of Islam coming to your country is perfectly rational. Therefore it is not a phobia.

Then you hear things like anti-Muslim "racism", which is the most idiotic, ridiculous thing I've ever heard. And the people using phrases like this are usually intellectuals - professors, writers, speakers. They know Islam is not a race, but are being intellectually dishonest, because they'll take any chance to get at the white westerner, who is the primary resistance against Islam right now. Islam has large numbers of adherents on 5 continents, so it cannot be a race.

I'll even do you one further. Forget racism, there is not even such a thing as anti-Muslim bigotry. Islam is both a religion and a political ideology. One cannot be bigoted against Muslims any more than one can be bigoted against Nazis (political ideology) or Scientologists (religion). Until we start using the phrases anti-Nazi bigot or anti-Scientology bigot, then anti-Muslim bigot has no meaning.

Islam is an ideology that is intrinsically bigoted itself - against women, Christians, Jews, atheists, apostates, and gays. It's not bigoted to push back against bigotry. If that were the case then rebellious slaves were anti-white bigots.

No, it's not worth it. I recommend we end all welfare to immigrants immediately. We'd save a lot of money and they'd self-deport.

Maybe give them two year's notice, so they can get their finances in order.

Just think, Trump could announce that in Feb of 2019, all forms of government assistance to people NOT BORN in the U.S. (or naturalized) would end.

Mexico. Those kids are illegal immigrants there, just like most of the people we are deporting. Mexico doesn't want them. And they are US citizens, so you can't forcefully deport them.

There's an INS detention facility near me. I have been there to do interviews with the inmates for Amnesty International. Other than having a nice tan, everyone I met was as American as you and me. Most of them had been brought here as children. They spoke fine English. Hardly anyone even had an accent, unless it was a NY/NJ accent. They had all been picked up on minor charges, ranging from traffic violations to drugs. I never did run into anyone there who had committed any real crime. The system is set up so they have to sit in a private prison for six months before being deported...for no apparent reason other than to make The Geo Group get a fat government contract.

As a taxpayer, the prison state/military-industrial complex is raping you out a lot more money than the welfare state. But if we can just make America hate again, they're never going to notice how badly they're getting screwed.

Actually, Christianity is all about the voluntary helping of others, not the government-mandated help that we have today. Libs try to sneak that in there but it's really not the same. The churches USED to handle all the charity, and the government could stay busy doing what it should be doing, enforcing laws.

That's funny. Mexico gives nationality by birth, but we don't. Being born abroad to American citizens does not equate to automatic citizenship in our system.

Regardless, a lot of the people we are sending back have no connection to the "home country" that we deport them to. Some of them don't even speak Spanish, or at least very well at all. Someone who was brought here as a little kid and lived their entire life here is as American as you and me. To deport that person is to banish an American to a foreign country.
