How should you make a left turn? Correct answer is at the bottom.

A) Change lane and make a left turn.
B) Continue to an intersection and make a left turn.
C) Both choices are correct.

CORRECT: C) Both choices are correct.

My fvcking god! Everything I learned in American high school driving class turns out to be crap. Man I can show you a dozen crush videos where cars get hit if they continue to an intersection and then make a turn. Kill me please, or prove me wrong, or something.

The answer looks like B to me, where did you get this question?

You can pick up most textbooks used in classrooms, and there will be mistakes in them. They often get corrected in future editions.

Why would you need to change lanes to make a left turn? Unless the person who wrote the question doesn't know their left from their right...

Don't you mean a right turn?

If so, the arrows are indicating that it's ok to turn right from either lane.

I sometimes see this at certain intersections.

Yeah if it's a right turn C would be correct.

Those situations are dangerous. You could be on the outside lane, turning right into the outside lane of the next street. But the bozo on your right will turn right and as he's doing so, will merge left into your lane, thinking that his lane is the only one that can turn right.

I'm guessing these are Russian streets? It looks like that might be a one way street, although I can't be sure because that's not the way a one way street is marked in the US. Anyway, if that is a one way street, none of the answers are correct, because you can't turn left at all.

Have you ever seen signs on the back of a big truck's trailer that say this vehicle makes wide turns ? The driver has to go in the opposite direction of the turn at first so as to not run over the curb with his trailer. I once had a job as a wide load escort driver, and part of my job was to block people from trying to pass in that situation. I remember watching a guy in my rear view mirror. I got in his way once, and he looked annoyed. Then he tried to go around me and I moved to block him again. He went ballistic, flailing his arms around, flipping me off and screaming...then the truck swung around the turn, going right through the space he was trying to drive into, and he instantly shut up, because he realized that I had just saved him from his own stupidity.

Ahhhhhhhh! Yea It looks like I don't know my right left from my left right.

But come on, I can bet my ass virginity here, if you want to turn right on that street, you have to turn into right-turning lane, and then make a right. If you are one of those *******s that don't do it, it is an accident! Am I wrong or something?

Nah, if you want to turn right, you shouldn't need to change into the far right lane. They're both turning lanes, and they will turn onto a street with two more lanes going in the same direction. You see these a lot, usually on roads with heavy traffic that are part of a highway system. There are usually a lot of cars at any one time, and both lanes will turn right, they just each have to make sure they stay in their corresponding lane.

I travel on roads like this all the time. I guess it is kind of dangerous if you think about it. Only takes one driver who doesn't know what he's doing.

If I was to turn left in the next intersection I would position myself as shown in the picture and turn right at that intersection. I would not be in the right lane, then change to the left lane in the one way street. If I was taking another right or going straight at the next intersection, then I would stay in the right lane all the way.

If for whatever reason a car in the right lane smashes into my right side it's not my fault. His/hers insurance will have to cover the damage. The person changing lanes, even in intersections are responsible for not driving into someone in the other lane.

That sign is European. Judging by the arrows you can't make a left turn, but usually there would be a sign about that in addition.

This is how it works in Europe, I doubt it's much different in the US but I don't know for sure.
