It really doesn't matter WHO the Republican Presidential candidate is, NOR how well he debates....the mainstream media networks will always hammer him (or her).

- If they can't find any character flaws, they will make some up, like they did with Palin trying to paint her as a dumb a.ss.

- If they can't find any weakness in terms of experience, they will just demonize the person's policy positions.

I understand a political commentator like Rachel Maddow being bias, as she's a commentator. It's when people on CNN or the major broadcast networks POSITION themselves as hard news journalists but clearly have a Democratic "slant". Journalism is completely fvcking dead. If you want to learn the truth, you have to do your own research.

Exactly! As guy who used to be center-left and grew up despising Fox News, I've taken a sharp turn to the right, and the channel I would disagree with most on the substantive issues would be MSNBC. I've seen the right and left biases, respectively, of both.

Fox is made up of mostly checkered pants, Rockerfeller Republicans who are very out of touch with the middle class and especially the poor. Their claims of fair & balanced are pretty comical. On the other hand, MSNBC is an absolute freakshow of Marxists, communists, radical feminists, and BLM/Islamic apologetics (they gave Al Sharpton his own show and have Michael Moore on every week. Enough said,) I would disagree with them on almost every issue. BUT, at least you know what you're getting with MSNBC. They're not lying about who they are. It's a circus where the inmates are running the asylum, and their outreach is pretty limited.

But CNN is the worst of the lot right now. Why? Because it is the go-to station for US government propaganda. It is a left wing machine cloaked as the moderate station, and it is more dangerous because it is much better than Fox at giving that veneer of balance. It is easier to dupe the people, because instead of morbidly obese neckbeards like Michael Moore or discredited charlatans like Sharpton, they trot out the clean-cut, all American boys like Anderson Cooper, Jake Tapper, Don Lemon, and Brian Stelter, who walk, talk, and dress like journalists, when in reality they are the go-to puppets for the DNC and George Soros. CNN is the most dangerous of the three major networks because they are the best at lying about giving you both sides.

Unfortunately, I don't think you're going to get much better from independent media going forward. The Young Turks for example is the largest online "news" show in North America. It is a channel whose CEO is a holocaust denier, and they use their content to motivate hatred towards whites and cops, and to prop up Islamic terrorists. They are truly dangerous. Their arch-nemesis is Alex Jones Infowars, the 2nd biggest show in online media. While I admire Alex's steadfastness and loyalty to the Consitution, the gun hysteria and lizard people stuff is way too much for me. Salon and Huffington Post are the end of journalism as we know it. They are well-oiled slander machines.

You can really get your news from anywhere, but do your own fact checking and always use your critical thinking skills no matter the presenter.

This is why I also watch RussiaTV and AlJazeera to get a different side, even if they have their own pro-Kremlin or pro-Sunni biases.

Trump brings it on himself though by continually doing and saying dumb crap.
I very nearly inserted that very phrase into my previous post: "Trump brings it on himself though". Funny thing, saying the dumb crap is part of his appeal, because it makes him sound like he's not a politician. Everything he says isn't carefully crafted or thought out.

The only part where I disagree with you is I don't think Trump could have won this, barring some self destructive blowup by Hillary. As I said previously, I don't think the country will elect a Republican president at this point in time.

The difference I see between the right and left is the right takes the long view while the left takes the short view. The right way is probably better for the country in the long term, but people will vote for the short view because they don't want to suffer in the meantime.

It really doesn't matter WHO the Republican Presidential candidate is, NOR how well he debates....the mainstream media networks will always hammer him (or her).

Very true, depicting Republicans as morons is almost a national past time for the media, going back to President Ford at least. Bob Dole might have been an exception, but he had no chance to win. Palin got the "Quayle" treatment.

I know you liked my post but you're going to hate this response. Alternative media is even worse than mainstream media. The two channels you named make CNN look like the poster child for legitimate investigative journalism.

RT is a pro-communist channel that gives a voice to the most mentally deranged, shunned rejects of society who have been pushed to the fringes where they belong. These people are legitimate communists and Marxists who are so far out there that even American-leftist outlets won't associate with them. I'm talking about holocaust deniers like Gilad Atzmon and George Galloway. These people have been attacked by Huffington Post and the Southern Poverty Law Center - not exactly right-wing organizations. Or convicted traitors who've fled the country like the dishonorably discharged marine Ken O'Keefe. These are people who have lost all credibility and do not deserve a public platform.

Al Jazeera is an Islamist organization that is state-run media for the government of Qatar. They are sickening apologists for radical Islamic terrorism, constantly lie about Israel, and their propaganda methods know no limits. For instance, the Iranian shooter in Germany was named Ali David Sonboly. AJ cut the name Ali and reported him as "David Sonboly" to cover his Islamic roots and to give him the most Jewish sounding name there is. Disgraceful.

PressTV is the Iranian equivalent state-run media outlet that has given voice to people like Mike Harris, an American neo-nazi who blamed Sandy Hook on Israel, and Kevin Barrett, a wife-beating, 9/11 conspiracy theorist.

The CEO of The Young Turks is an Armenian Genocide denier who was fired from MSNBC for being too far left, and MSNBC is a socialist channel. To the left of a socialist is a communist.

Alternative doesn't necessarily mean better. In many cases it's much worse.

I have a friend who swears by Al-Jazeera. They have their own agenda also, but at least it's a break from the two party stuff you see in US.

Send me his best shot. Al Jazeera is doing more to push the lie of "Islamophobia" more than anyone. I just gave one example of both anti-Semitism & lying by omission, but I've got more.

Anyway, I'm not arguing your point, I agree they have their own agenda. But at least it's a different agenda than the ones we usually see from the US media. Although I think they still have a leftist slant.

My buddy moved out of town unfortunately, not sure when I'll see him again exactly. I seem to recall he also liked NPR, but I'm not as familiar with them.

I think the media would have gone much easier on Jeb or maybe Kasich because they are establishment candidates much closer to Hillary on many issues. Not a free pass, but they would have gotten less criticism than Trump. The establishment REALLY wanted Hillary vs Jeb. That way, it's "heads I win and tails I win."

He was winning the debate during discussion of NAFTA, trade, etc....he needs to stay on that topic.
Exactly. He needs to beat the anti-NAFTA drum as loudly as possible. Honestly, trade issues are his strongest "trump" card.

While Bernie got some mileage out of anti-NAFTA stuff, many of his followers were too young to fully understand and appreciate that issue. But Trump has an older following that is quite familiar with NAFTA devastation.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Seriously? A week ago, the polls had Trump tied or even winning in most swing states. Now they are saying he's 11 points below Clinton in Colorado? It's easy to question the validity of the polls, but the other frightening thought: are people really that easily swayed by that debate? I mean, it's not like either candidate said much that they hadn't before...

Trump needs to stop acting like dumb.a§§ dragging himself into personal pissing contests, and start hammering Clinton on her past experience and weak policy points.

Pence was a class act. Kaine on the other hand was rude with nothing of any value to say.

i have to question the intelligence and sanity of anyone who takes politics seriously in this day in age in our country. This is basically the WWE for nerds and white people now. People look at the debates and literally can't even form their own opinion anymore the first thing they do is turn to fox or msnbc to see what their talking points are. god our country is a ****ing joke
