They cat that my ex gf gave me is under stress and has blood in her urine. I have had her to the vet and her first suggestions didnt work so now Im trying plan B.

My question is should I inform my ex who is a vet? Ask her what she thinks? What if I have to put my cat to sleep? My ex is am excellent small animal doctor. My cats ass would be with her right now. Opinions guys? I'm leaning towards it's none of her business but want other points of view if they are to be had.

Keep the convo to the cat if you choose to do it. Based on your other posts tho I don't know if that would be the right move for you. Are there no other pet places in your area?

If you are seriously concerned about your cat get the cat to your ex.

Why? Because the ex has a greater investment into that cat than anybody else from a vet standpoint. The greater the emotional investment the better the care the cat will get all other things being equal.

Add to that the fact that your ex is a great vet & it's the best option for the cat.

If you lose the cat & always wonder if you should have gotten your cat to the ex...that's mental gymnastics you could reasonably avoid tormenting yourself with.

Just keep it medical & if pressed discuss your Latina landlady plate or whoever your most significant interest happens to be

I like the cat family; tigers, that is. Kitty cats, eh.

Is this the same ex that you came to this site over? The one who gets unconsciously brought up without relation to the topic at hand? The one who has been embedded in your psyche for the past six or so months? The one who has led you to take meds for anxiety/depression?

These are assumptions. I could be wrong. But if I am half-right, the real question is what serves YOUR best interest?

When the woman who drove me to sosuave moved out, she left her cat behind. I didn't update her or anything about the cat. In my opinion, she abandoned him, so he was rightfully mine. However, 15 years after we split up, she started pursuing me again and I let her visit the cat. I was over her and the cat was nearing death.

It's your cat now. If your ex didn't want to take her, then she's abandoned all rights to know what's going on.

My guess is your cat may have a kidney stone, but I'm no vet.

Kidney stone is a possibility. She gave me the cat as a kitten. Funny thing is the cat didn't like her because she gave it injections. That hurt her feelings.

I just stay the course with the new vet. I have to put her on a prescription diet. If that dosent work then I will take the next step.

I don't think anything good can come of getting my ex involved.

Thanks guys for your opinions.

Don't take your cat to the Vet. It needs $50 in herbal medicine.

1) No more grain food. Cats are carnivores not omnivores. They can eat only meat plus some incidental herbs. Spend extra and get Blue Buffalo Grain Free food (this cured my cat from throwing up).
2) Buy Valerian Root Capsules (these are good for people too - heals the nerves). Cats treat it like catnip. Open one up and sprinkle on it's toy or food.
3) Start putting Apple Cider Vinegar (Bragg, Raw), $5.99 for a large bottle on her food or fur. Cures fleas and is a healing tonic for cats and humans.
4) Organic Chlorella tablets (on Amazon, Natural News store brand is best). These are good for people too. Hide them in their soft food and they eat them. Or get Barley Cat to sprinkle on (they love it!)
5) From now on, only Reverse Osmosis Water (from the Glacier machines at the grocery store, costs 30 cents a gallon. Buy a 3 or 5 gallon BPA-free jug and refill them). You should drink that water also.
6) Add some high quality Olive Oil to her food.
7) For canned food, only Tuna in water (I recommend Sustainable Seas Yellowfin brand with no salt) for a while. NO generic cheap canned food - it contains Melamine and is from China and is killing our pets. Phase out any other canned food.
8) Raw food diet - very important - cats need raw meat. It comes frozen and you thaw little portions as needed. Start with raw chicken (they only eat organic, they know somehow). It's good if they eat small bones.
9) Fresh organic catnip (but avoid toxic toys from China - they end up eating them and getting poisoned).
10) If it has fleas - treat place with food grade Diatomaceous Earth for 1 week.
11) Have some fresh ferns and plants (but not lilies or other cat-toxic plants) and make sure it gets sunlight every day. Ideally let it out to chew on plants.
12) NEVER declaw a cat (barbaric). It's like clipping off the first joint on your fingers without pain killer - all 10 - at once - to save your ****ing couch. Then they can't groom themselves.
13) Brush the cat with an old boars hair brush.

These simple steps will keep your cats (and yourself and dogs) super healthy for life and will bring great relief in the short term. Your pet will know and will shower you will affection and become super soft and shiny. Oh yeah, and you should follow the same diet including grain free.

Vets will just vaccinate it, medicate it, give it toxic "Advantage" flea medicine at $10 per dose, bully you into getting heart worm medicine, give it antibiotics it doesn't need, chip it with a cancer-causing device and charge you $300 and then nag you to come get "boosters". Neither of my cats has ever seen a vet. If you PM me your address I can help you get this stuff if you can't afford it.

Dustmuffin, bigneil just told how to get your cat into alpha mode. Really, my ex and I had two cats together that I saved when they were like 2 weeks, the folks were going to kill them. Anyhow, we really got into the whole cat scene, and by feeding it well, you will cut 99% of vet expenses. I'm not saying that you shouldn't pay a visit right now, but the advice he gave is good as ****.

I miss my cats, damn. I hope yours gets well, and good decision on keeping the ex apart.

Thanks for the encouraging words.

Cats are killing machines. There is nothing feminine about them. I like their aloof outlook and lack of neediness. Plus if you mistreat cats they will leave your ass for better pickings. A dog will stick around and take the abuse. I like dogs but cats work best for me.

My cats get the best of care...no fleas and shiney coat. The vet thinks it's a stress issue. I'll definitely take some of bigneils advice.

IMO cats are the most loving creatures on Earth. They even love the mice they eat. Cats saved humanity from the Bubonic Plague (see Pied Piper).
Cats are well known to be the most feminine creatures on Earth, and horses are the most masculine (see Psychology 101)
You are correct that cats will leave if you mistreat them, but mine always came back after we had an argument (to a hug and apology).

OP - think about it: your EX is a VET, and her own cat is sick! Never go back to her.
