I bet you are thinking it is because heels make women taller and make their asses stick out. But no, that is not the reason why we, men, find women in heels attractive. You will never guess why we find women in hills attractive! Go ahead and try. Correct answer is bellow.

When a woman walks on heels she has very little space on her feet to balance herself. For this reason she has to try harder balancing herself, and it shows when she is walking or standing in heels. This provokes in us an instinct, we want to save and protect the woman. Thus we find women in heels much more attractive.

We can provoke instincts in women as well. For example we could wear comfortable shoes that make us stand and walk with certainty and stability.

What other things we can do or wear which provoke women's instincts?

"Save and protect the woman", is there anyone left with such?

I dont recall to feel it for a good looking woman in the last 10 yrs, only for old ladies crossing the streets or unable to grab a good from the shelf, surely not attractive women.

When I see a woman with heels instinctively I feel like she is either dtf or attention wh0ring.

Reality check. Your instincts tell you to save and protect, your conscious tell you she is either dtf or attention wh0ring. Instinctive and conscious parts of the brain are physically different. When you smell a food your instincts cause hunger, but your conscious might tell you that you don't need to eat right now. But it does not matter what your conscious tells you because we are interested in instincts.

I tought it was the sugar level in my blood to tell me if I have to eat or not not my instinct.

Anyway my instinct tells me to force myself on a girl when Im horny and push her on the ground if she refuse while my conscious tells me to smile and politely leave, which one do you think will dictate my behaviour in the end?

Not my intention to attack you or sabotage your thread, its just your point not to be clear.

What a lot of cods wallop!.....That's just a story Mum told Dad to make him laugh...Sorry Mate but the more prosaic rationale is probably the better guess.

Can't say I agree with this. My theory is that historically only upper class women could afford to spend money on high heels to acquire the luxury of appearing taller and more prominent. High heels are not really practical, rather an added luxury. So today when you see a girl in high heels, it is now associated with being classy and high status. Hence, social status.

I don't think it really has anything to do with guys wanting to protect women from falling over.

Heels are hot on girls. They look good and are designed to position their feet in a way that makes their hips and butt look bigger.. Plus she looks bigger, which draws more attention as well. I don't think it's a subconscious save me thing.

Interesting theory. I do feel aware that when a women is wearing heels, she is somewhat limited in her movement. There could be something in what you say. In the recent movie Jurassic World, Bryce Dallas Howard leads the T-Rex with a flare, running in front of it in heels. I remember thinking that was a fancy bit of running, since her footwear could trip her up at any moment.

Usually you hear that women wear heels to make their legs look longer and more shapely. I've also hurt the "it makes her butt stick out more" thing also. Anyway, I know I'm in a minority here, but I'm not fond of women in heels. I think it makes their legs look unnatural, it bends them in kind of an odd angle - more so if they are kind of boney. Besides which, I prefer short women - low height is a turn on for me, and heels kind of spoil that.

There is most definitely something to what the OP says.

Women accentuate their weaknesses and insecurities to attract a man. They would never admit this and by far most of them are unaware of this, but it is true. I've often thought about this.

Heels limit their ability to move around and escape a threat. Look at the common pocket book. Put a man side-by-side with another man, both in business suits and one carrying a briefcase, and the man without the briefcase appears much more powerful. Having to hold your survival items in an outboard carrying device is a sign of weakness.

Look at the old cop shows from the 70s. The female cops are running around in heels and carrying a pocketbook while they out-do their male partner and catch the bad guy. The pocketbook they are clutching onto as they're running around the shipping docks chasing the bad guy is incongruent with heroic activities and really stands out as bizarre. The heels speak for themselves.

@backseatjuan is absolutely correct. A very astute observation in fact. To attract men, women advertise and accentuate their weakness. Men hate the idea of so-called "powerful" women. Both men and women know this instinctively but not necessarily intellectually.

It actually makes their butts look more in proportion to their "height". What would be a fat ass on 5'2" is nicer on 5"6".And I have a thing for tall women....

Funny you say that. 5'2" to 5'6" is pretty much the height range that I find most attractive. Any shorter and they might start to look freakish, any taller and they start to look tall to me. I have nothing against tall women, but I prefer the "shawties".

As I leg man, I always thought that high heels were very suggestive sexually. I mean if you think about it, high heels put her legs in a very similar sexual position that you might have with the her ankles resting on your shoulders during the act.

I always thought high heels were a way of a woman saying "I have sexual value and I will show the right guy exactly how much value I have" ....or sometimes it's just "I want to use my sexual value to my advantage in the workplace." Regardless, women know exactly what they are doing with high heels.

Regarding the web site....well, while a women will do just about anything if it means it will attract men, they really aren't likely to say "I wear high heels to make the right guy think about having sex with me.". So of course a web site for women will give a "nice" answer on why women wear high heels, like it's to provoke an "innocent" male instinct and not the "real" male instinct.

Women constantly tell "white lies" to maintain their sexual value. It's what they do.They are hard wired to do this 24/7. That web site is a perfect example.

It's really not a "damsel in distress" thing but rather an amplifying of femininity.

All those accoutrements suggest an inability to survive and thrive without external supports. A woman who remains "natural" is sexually undesirable and seen as worthless in society. Makeup, heels, clothing are the external structure that gives her meaning. It's the opposite for men. Our locus of control is internal. Our value is in naturalness. Women's value is in face paint, shoes, clothes, jewelry, etc. All external, and all used to create value in society. What value is a woman except for sex, raising children and keeping a "nest"?

A female's childlike weakness and dependence is what turns men on. A male's strength, boldness, and unencumbered moving through the world is what turns women on. No social experiment can negate these facts of nature.

My theory -- women wear high heels mostly because they're insecure, and high heels make them feel like they're measuring up to a larger pool of men. Yet ironically by artificially and temporarily increasing her height, she is artificially shrinking the pool of quality male suitors who are already taller than she is.

It didn't really hit me why some women do this until I noticed how mean women are when talking about the shorter half of men. For example, last week when I was looking over profiles on POF, a few women made degrading digs at men on the shorter side. Here was one comment that stood out to me - "Btw boys, I like my high heels, so you better be 6ft+, so sorry short guys.

Why so mean? Because she hates that part of herself that she sees as inferior to men. By being able to crush a man's ego and reduce his worth in society, she feels empowered.

I'm guessin' you express not a single preference on your POF profile and will seek out any woman to go out with.

She's not 'degrading' anyone. She expressed a preference.
You conveniently glossed over the part where I wrote "fine" in response to women preferring men who are taller than they are NATURALLY. It's like weeding out people who don't possess certain luxury items because you seem them as impoverished, yet your credit cards are maxed out and you have no savings and they are the ones financially secure.

Sorry. You glossed over the part of you believing that someone expressing a preference is degrading in the post to which I responded.
