I was talking to my friend today. Yesterday he told me he was going to be hanging out with this married chick who he has messed around with in the past. I told him it was a lost cause, that she was doing nothing more than using him as an intimacy surrogate, and that it wasn't worth his time to put any more effort into trying to hit it.
I was right on the money.
So we were talking a little more about this, and it turns out that one of the ways this chick justifies her behavior is because she TOLD her husband that she wanted to "make out" with my friend, and he basically said "go ahead". Not sure exactly how all of this came up, but I'm assuming that she was using it as ammunition in an argument.
So this chick uses my friend as a way to take shots at her husband, then she justifies USING MY FRIEND to get what she is missing at home by taking what her husband said LITERALLY when I am sure it wasn't intended that way.
What a selfish b!tch!
And I like the girl. She's nice. But when i step back and look at what is going on, she is unabashedly USING two men. It pisses me off cause I similar situations playing out all the time.
Eventually our conversation moved to a girl I was seeing last year. It seems that although there was never any talk of exclusivity, and I PERSONALLY thought it was a casual thing, evidently the girl thought of it as a little bit more.
So I started thinking about that situation too.
Basically, I am still friends with this girl's best friend. She has helped me out in the past, and I owe her to this day. We hang out once every couple of weeks or so.
But I got to thinking. The chick I was seeing THOUGHT we had "something". Her friend even told me so. But despite this fact, she started seeing someone back in her hometown, who she "left me" for.
I stopped for a second and thought about what would have happened if the roles were reversed. What if I were the one who started seeing another chick and left this girl? I would be a grade "A" ASS HOLE. Neither her nor her friend would likely speak with me ever again. I would be labeled as a "dog" and serve as confirmation that all men suck.
But since it's NOT reversed, I am still friends with this girls best friend, and I am still cool with the girl I dated.
Oh yea, then there's this other girl that these women work with, who is fukking a married guy at the office. Does she get any flack for that? No, of course not. It's ok for a woman to engage in such behavior, but if these girls found out that my friend was trying to have sex with a married chick she would have a fit, further confirmation that "All men are dogs".
The double standard is almost sickening.
