Alright gents, need your opinion, how rude was I?

Here's how it went down. Been seein this chick for a few weeks now, she's got super high IL. She's totally into me and I've been doin everything to keep her interested.

So on Sunday we go to an NHL preseason game, a rare treat as we live in a non NHL city. First period we get to our seats and there is a bunch of empty seats beside us so I take the aisle seat.

Second period we are late coming back from getting Beer/popcorn, I notice a couple sitting beside where we were sitting. So I take the seat closest to them so I can interact with some fellow fans.

I'm hollaring the whole game, bein loud obnoxius, fittin in with the crowd. Well this girl beside me is totally into hockey, were chattin like crazy. Just before the 2nd period is over, she convinces her guy friend to go get a beer w/ 45 secs left in the period to avoid a lineup.

Well 10 mins left in the 3rd period, I noticed buddy was out of beer, I was done mine as well, I asked him if he wanted to go get a beer, he said no, so the chick offers, I'll go with you. So we get up and go get a beer, I totally assumed my date heard everything, when I got back I found out she was gone. I got ditched, I was like wtf. She wouldn't answer my calls, or txt me back. So after the game, I realize I have her van keys, so I call again and she answers, says she's in the van.

She was cryin, upset, thought that I took off with this other girl. I ended up smoothing it out but I realized afterwards I came across as a pretty big d1ck.

And there's still guys out there that feel that women have so much control and power; if they could only understand what lies beneath the facade.

She cried over THAT?!

Be wary. She will eventually try to control your every action. She is definitely the jealous stalker type.

i dont know about you guys, but in a very strange way i get a HUGE laugh when wierd things happen in life.

before they would confuse me or p*ss me off, but now its all i can do to contain my laughter.

I tend to look at those kinds of scenarios as life playing a practical joke - and id rather laugh at it than worry over why it happened.

Yeah .... that was pretty rude ...

it does not sound like you have much respect for or a high interest level in your date ...

Out of courtesy you should have told her you were going for a beer and asked if she wanted anything. You took her out of the equation and seem to be interested in strangers more than her!

wtf is with this 'You were rude' Dr Phil Bullsh!t? Let's all have a group cry for her poor hurt feelings, boo-hoo...

His behavior raised her IL, not lowered it. The little roller-coaster drama she had will only make her more infatuated.

Ok - His behavior WAS RUDE and clumsy and something a stupid high school jock would PULL.. HOwever it is TRUE that she now has HIGHER IL because of the emotions that this event stirred up in her. He acted like a jerk - women are drawn/attracted to jerks .
Socially her did the wrong thing but strategically he did a good thing.

NO body ever said that women made any sense at all .. Ha ha !

LMS - I suprised and impressed as to your response on this. I actually did the same thing to a girl that I WAS dating.
It does PISS them off big time.

Will not do again.

If you want to talk, talk to your friends. If you want a girl to like you, listen to her, ask questions, and act like you are on the edge of your seat.

i am sure you did not intend for her to get jealous or hurt just because you wanted to grab another beer, but it did. it made her feel not important and invisible. which is a silly thing because it was really about getting a beer.
however, she was not paying attention and had no clue what you were doing so what did she do? react.

how did she react? retreating to cry alone in the van...

seems like she is such a sweet girl to just go sit in the van all dry mouthed and stuff... i know women that would have left with someone else over something that silly. i know other women who would have been so jealous that they would have followed you up there and snatched your beers away only to throw them in the stranger chicks face and proceeded to kick her butt. jealousy does things to people.

why did she retreat to the van? because she wanted you to worry about her and come look for her. she tested you. when the test failed, she cried while she waited to know her worth. was she even worth the return of her van keys? for a little while, she had no clue.

lms was right in what he said about courtesy.

however, it was all really silly and was a complete misunderstanding.

Well, for me, it is all about RESPECT. I expect it from any woman I am with, and getting into long conversations with someone else while we're out (ESPECIALLY another guy) is verboten.

The thing is, I give it in return. Not only is it the right thing to do, it is also a smart way to handle things. Otherwise, you get yourself into jams that can be difficult to get out of, such as this one. She left, and it bothers you enough to come on here and ask if it was you.

I'm not being hard on you, because we ALL make mistakes. But she left because you gave her no respect, by talking so much with the other girl. You'd leave too if she were dissing you likewise, wouldn't you?

Some good points by all. I agree I made an error in judgement and should have notified her but as others have pointed out, strategically it raised her IL.

Penkitten, you actually bring some good perspective as the women. I've been with other psycho chicks who are the type to chase me then throw the beers away out of spite, I'm glad this one isn't like that.

The sad part is I almost didn't want to go return the keys because I kinda wanted to number close the girl but didn't but she did tell me that she was goin to a bar next door, I was mighty tempted to go next door. But she answered her phone at the right time and I went to make things right.

#17 your also right about the respect thing, it was disrespectful and I likely wouldn't put up with it from 98% of women.
