Love handles

Hi,

I have some love handles I'd like to trim down. Currently I am doing a 3 day split at the gym of various compound exercises with some cardio mixed in to each session. Are there some specific exercises I can do to work on the love handles specifically?

Just cardio really and your diet, lose the weight all over and your handles will be lost too.

no, lovehandles are just deposits of fat which must be burned off from the body as a whole..

do your cardio 6 days a week on an empty stomach or possibly with some protein beforehand for 30-45 mins (incline walk on the treadmill).

use a carb cutoff at least four hours before bed (only protein, some fat and veggies post-cutoff).

drink green or white tea (8-10 bags worth or the same in extract).

avoid mixing carbs and fats too much in the same meal. (a little won't hurt but no peanut butter and jam sandwiches every day)

take in EFA's from fish and/or flax oil. a tablespoon (or 15g if in pills) of each will do.

see how you go with that for now.

Great, thanks for the advice. Will this amount of cardio hinder muscle growth at all? Currently I just do 15 minutes jog post workout.

not at all as long as you keep it light (walk don't jog).

hey bro a couple of years ago before i went throught my body transformation i used to have some HUGE asssss love handles.

Anyways one of my "girl-friends" who was a pro trainer with ppl in the MLB told me to do cardio 5-7 times a week.

On the treadmill

30 mins of

Running with a 5-6 mph speed on a 0.5-1.0 incline. If you get tired its ok to walk with a speed 4 but increase the incline to a 3 or 4.

You wont believe it bro, 3 weeks and KABAM! i got pretty slimed out. But ofcourse you have to have a good diet.

I hate running on the treadmill its like prison for me, and i figured why...its because of the numbers it displays that kinda fvck my motivation.

SO when i run on the treadmill i juss put my towel on the time and calz section. Run for 30 minutes and juss leave, i dont bother to look at the numbers and it kept me goin.

ya if u dont take any protein. I was on protein and took a teaspoon of glucamin before my runs and a teaspoon after my runs. Did wonders for me.

I think most ppl worry way to much about losing muscle mass. As long as you eat right what do you have to worry about.

depends whether you have any muscle to lose. if you've got a load of fat and relatively little muscle you'll be fine, but expect to lose more muscle as you shed more fat..

running always did a number on my squat past 350-400 so I don't run anymore. lol.

I remember last year, around the middle I had some cranking love handles.

When your overweight... Doing any exercise will make you gain muscle and lose fat simple..

I had probably 80g of protein and was losing fat and gaining muscle but minimal muscle.

Thanks for the replies. So going on the advice I figure I will do some light cardio (fast pace walk/jog) for 30 mins 5 - 6 times a week including days when I am doing weights.

Well just got back from the gym, did my usual weights session which lasted about 50 minutes and finished off with 30 minutes jogging (at about 8Kph) on a 2.0 incline. It felt good, usually I don't really enjoy the cardio part but this low intensity over a longer period just felt better to me.

My plan now is to do 30 minutes every morning before work, Mon - Fri and then my usual weights session 3 times a week in the evening.

I run 5 times a week for 30 minutes during my lunchbreak at work - we have showers at work. Anyway, this stuff about muscle waste hasn't applied to me at all! I've been doing it for a year and my calfs are well ripped, my thighs are rock hard and have grown too - pity the fat hasn't reduced below my balls! My shoulders are real broad and my upper torso is nice and toned! Love handles are non-existent put the pot belly is still there a bit! The only thing that has really thined up is my face - double chin is still a slight annoyance though!

Forgot to mention that me arse cheeks look pretty good - well they must do because I've caught a few girls looking...even some have made comments in the street!! haha...mind you I've always been told that I have a nice bum by the chicks since I was 13...
