Regardless of what he says, shoot back "don't you wish you had the balls to do this too?" and he's gone. Not that i've ever had to do that, cuz this has never happened. Using your compliment method got me a countless number of "thank you"s, but when a women thanks you for complimenting, tha t usually means the convo is coming to a dead end.
You weren't doing it right. Perhaps you came off as supplicating. The compliment opener, if you choose to use it (it is one of MANY types of openers for direct/natural game), isn't supposed to come off as being the PURPOSE of your approach, but rather something you said (because you couldn't help it!) to a girl that you really wanted to get to know.

One thing all girls say is they HATE it when they find out that the guy is lying while he's "flirting".
I'm not saying it doesn't work - just don't do anything that will get you caught. i.e. Later on she finds out you have no sister-in-law.
